I bought this car in England a couple of years ago after an unfortunate incident with my previous one when it decided to go up in smoke. The car was pretty much standard when I bought it with the exception of its L500HP number plate which was a tad optimistic at the time...

Once I got it home I handed it over to Johnny at Ai Autosports for the work to begin. The plan had always been to dump the 2 small standard turbo's in favor of a large single but off the shelf kits for this simply dont exists so a custom set of manifolds and pipe work had to be made. Luckily I found a guy in Mexico of all places to do the work so I sent him the spec and waited the 3 months for the bits to arrive. What eventually turned up was even better than my expectations considering I never even spoke to the guy outside emails..
Once the manifold and pipework was checked it was packaged up again and shipped off to Zircotec to be coated to try and help keep those temps down, while it was away I purchased a GT4094R which was going to be the heart of the build.
Then began the work on the car, the complete underside was stripped and all the bits sent for powder coating while every bushing was replaced with poly ones, fuel pipes replaces with stainless, brake lines replaced, rear steer deleted, underside of car completely sealed, tein coilovers fitted, big brake kit fitted and all nuts and bolts replaced with marine grade stainless ones. I was lucky enough to find a Mitsubishi B4H hybrid rear diff and this was fitted to, if your not a GTO of 3000GT fan that probably wont mean much to you but their are rarer than unicorn dung....

The engine then got Johnnys magic touch with complete strip down and rebuild with forged internals, custom work here to with a custom oil pan and oil feed system for the GT40. Transmission wasn't ignored either and it got stripped and a 300M output shaft and imput spool combined with s Spec stage 4+ clutch helps carry the extra torques. When it came time to refit the lump to the car all fuse boxes where removed and all wires tucked as best as possible, the ABS and air-con where removed and the brake and clutch systems modified to make more room for the new pipe work. The engine bay is never going to look uncluttered just due to the nature of the engine but its a lot cleaner now even with the extra pipes than it was leaving the factory. Most of everything under the bonnet is either custom or modified, suppose thats why this is the only single turbo 3000GT on the road in the UK or Ireland and one of only a handful in the world...
More recently the heavy standard electric seats have been removed in favor of some lighter Honda S2000 ones which really suit the car.
The wheels on the car where from a 350Z and I thought they kind of suited it so they got a refurb and I put them back on wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888's, the once wildly optimistic L500HP number plate was kept but now its a tad short of the true figure.....
